ABOUT US

Who we are

We are a loving and diverse community in the heart of Herne Bay town centre who are united in our love for Jesus Christ and His gift of salvation, allowing us all to have a relationship with God The Father, in the power of His Holy Spirit.  We aim to provide a warm and welcoming place where newcomers and "regulars" alike can come and worship God together and feel they are valued. We want people to feel at home here and be able to join in with us in our various activities.

The following mission statement was agreed by the church in 2020:

"Herne Bay Baptist Church: A community sharing Jesus, so you can know Jesus, become like Jesus and impact the World like Jesus."

Membership of the church is through believer's baptism. Communion is open to all who love the Lord Jesus as Saviour.

We are members of the Baptist Union of Great Britain (BUGB).

We are a Registered Charity with registration number 1153040.

Our buildings

The main church building is a multi-functional space which is used for a variety of purposes, including the main services and many other activities. We have movable seating so we can set up as a restaurant, children's play group, art club, host craft fairs, etc. We have a large well-equipped kitchen, plus toilets, church hall and other small rooms.

Next door to the main church is the Friendship Centre, which is a three story house with kitchen and toilets on each floor. The basement is self-contained and used for youth work. The other floors have meeting rooms and offices.
